Texas National Residents- We continue to make necessary excavations and repairs for the water main break. We anticipate service to be restored by late this evening. We appreciate your patience.
This morning, our community’s water system experienced a malfunction at the water plant. The system controls failed, causing the water wells to misread the levels in the ground storage tanks as empty. As a result, the wells continued pumping water, which led to the storage tanks overflowing into the pond and eventually filling the nearby dip area.
We want to assure you that the malfunction has been corrected, and the system controls are now functioning properly. Crews are actively pumping down both the pond and the dip area to restore normal levels.
Additionally, we’ve discovered that a drainage pipe leading from the pond was damaged by Frontier Communications. This damage is causing water to surface near Texas National Boulevard and run along the street. While this is not an emergency, we understand that it is inconvenient for nearby residents.
We are aware there is a water main break in Texas National. We have crews working to make repairs. Portions of Texas National may have low water pressure or intermittent water. We are working to resolve the issue and will update this site when repairs are complete.
When water is restored to full pressure, please run your outside water faucet closest to the street for 2 to 3 minutes to flush any dirt sediment through your lines.
Texas National Residents: Please be aware that we will be making emergency repairs to a water leak in the district. Different parts of the district may experience intermittent outages throughout the day. If you experience an outage or low water pressure please run your outside water faucet for a few minutes to prevent sediment from entering your internal water lines when your service returns. If you have any questions, please call 936-443-7920. Thank you.
With freezing temperatures right around the corner, it’s a good time to refresh ourselves on precautionary measures for drops in temperature and cold weather.
The Four P’s to Prepare your Home this Winter:
Due to inclement weather on the night of August 17, the water plant electrical system experienced a malfunction. Emergency power has been established while we continue to assess the cause of the malfunction. We apologize for the inconvenience this morning, thank you for your patience.
On February 16, 2021 the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required Texas National water system (PWS ID 1700207) to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of 10:19 am February 19, 2021.

Texas National Municipal Utility District has begun sanitary sewer line cleaning televising programs throughout the District. Televising is done by placing a camera in the sanitary sewer lines and recording its condition. At times, the contractor will require access to the lines. In some cases, the work will require access to some of your back yards. Please observe appropriate notices (door hangers and yard signs) prior to and during the project work. Special attention is directed to ceasing or limiting water usage during the notice period, if possible. Disruption will be kept to a minimum. The televising and cleaning project is a 45-day contract and will begin around August 10th (weather permitting). Your cooperation during this project is greatly appreciated.
